Noora Kaisa Keränen

Noora Kaisa Keränen is a biathlete known as the dependable force in any relay team — an athlete who remains ice-cold and precise on the final shooting stage, yet fiery and unstoppable when the race comes down to the wire. Her speed, refined technique, and mental resilience create a powerful combination that allows her to challenge any competitor in a head-to-head sprint to the finish.

As an athlete, Noora Kaisa embodies the distinctive individuality shared by those capable of world-class performances — people deeply devoted to their sport, their training, and the relentless pursuit of excellence.

As a person, she reflects the very essence of biathlon itself: dynamic, intriguing, multifaceted, and thrilling — like the perfect moment of shooting that follows an all-out ski leg, each breath measured and controlled with precision.

"A biathlon race is a unique experience that demands unwavering mental control, fierce physical endurance, and constant environmental awareness. The cold, damp air bites your skin, the crowd roars in your ears, the rifle harness digs into your shoulders, and your legs burn for oxygen — yet your focus must remain razor-sharp."
"For many, the final standing shoot may feel impossible. For me, it's the moment I wait for throughout the entire race — especially in relays, where the anchor leg's last shooting seals the team's journey and can change everything. When the last shot hits, the focus that has held you captive finally releases. Then comes the final ski lap — a battle against yourself and your rivals. The limits of the body disappear, chaos fills the mind, and every push becomes more powerful than the last. It's a feeling beyond words."

I am this athlete — one who thrives in these moments more than in anything else. My passion and love for biathlon have driven me to pursue the highest level of the sport."

Currently based in Joensuu, Noora Kaisa represents Ahveniston Ampumahiihtäjät in Finland. Her best results include World Cup points finishes (28th and 40th place) during the 2023–2024 season, alongside several successful relay performances. She has represented Finland twice at the Biathlon World Championships, in the 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 seasons.

Earlier in her career, she earned bronze at the Open European Championships, a mixed-relay bronze at the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF), and a relay silver medal at the Junior World Championships, along with numerous top-10 finishes at international competitions.

For Noora Kaisa, sport is the central pillar of life. Alongside her athletic career, she is pursuing environmental law studies at the University of Eastern Finland, which balance her demanding training schedule. Music also plays a meaningful role in her life — she sings and plays the oboe — bringing creativity and focus that complement her sporting mindset.

Training occupies most of her days, and maintaining its quality is crucial. Every session is an opportunity to improve, to challenge herself, and to move closer to her goals. Every ski stride, every heartbeat, every breath is a reminder that she gets to do what she loves most — live the life of an athlete
